Dear lovely souls,
Last year, due to Covid, we fundraised again and this time, sent Ben’s Epic Gift Vouchers into the three hospitals for the children staying in over Christmas.
It’s been an extraordinary year and not without its unexpected twists and turns.
Today I received a call from the lovely Hospital Charity at QA, who explained that while some of the vouchers were indeed given out over Christmas, there were some left over, as a member of staff responsible for handing them out is now retired.
The lovely lady who called me apologised and asked me if it would be ok to give them out this year at Christmas. In my heart, knowing that we will be fundraising again later this year … with any luck, for the boxes for the children, I suggested she take the remainder round to Starfish Ward in QA this afternoon and hand them out to the children in at the current time, who might welcome a distraction.
To that end, this is a short post to confirm that your wonderful funds raised are reaching the families we intended them for, but on this occasion, it has been a little delayed!
